A scrapbook page protector looks like a clear plastic sleeve. They are available in different sizes and the most popular is for the storage of 12 x 12, 8 x 8, 6 x 6, 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and 14 x 8-1/2 paper sheets. Most page protectors are supplied with standard 3-ring holes to fit standard 3-ring binders. Some are even made with an extended edge along the hole-line side, which is about 1/2 inch wide. This is to make the pages turn better in a postbound binder but, most importantly, make the pages lie flat when the binder is open.

    Scrapbook holders are sometimes available in different material textures. Here it seems like glass clear (also called Polished Material surface) is preferred over non-glare material texture. The real important part is simply to make sure you only use archival-safe or non-acidic scrapbook pages for the safest storage. Also, do not buy economic or standard-weight pages; it is simply not worth the money compared to the work efforts that is put into designing a great scrapbook presentation, especially if you plan to keep it for some time, perhaps pass it on to the kids.

In short make the following check list before purchasing scarpbooking page protectors:

1. Need to be archival safe and acid free.
2. Need to be made in heavy or super heavy gauge material, above 3.5 Mil.
3. Make sure the pre-punched holes fit you binder album.

Finally remember to have fun and enjoy yourself. It is a hobby and you will never get finished with all the pictures you got. Afterall it only take a split second to make a photo but hours to make a good scrapbook page. Why your scrapbook pages only deserv the best.
