Plastic sleeves holds everything that is flat up to maximum 1/4 inch or 5 mm in thickness. Often made to hold and store documents one page or several pages and they are often named a high capacity plastic sleeve but they are also made to hold CD's, DVD's, Diskettes, Business cards, Photos and as mentioned above documents but also documents in different sizes as 5.5 x 8.5 sleeves, 12 x 12 sleeves or the standard letter size 8.5 x 11 inch document sleeve.
The interesting part with plastic sleeves and sizes is that they are always referring to the size it actual holds not to the actual outside dimension of the plastic sleeve itself.

They are also available with and without a pre-punched holes line for use with standard 3-ring binders and then they become binder sleeves. Without the hole line and they become card holders or file jackets if open on 2 sides.
Today references to plastic sleeves is reference for storage of CD or DVD but that may soon change again with today's technology who knows for how many years we still will have CD's around and the need for CD Binder Pages but I am sure long after they are gone we will still have paper.
