Which Format to Choose?
The answer is really just a matter of personal preference - some people find it easier to insert paper at the top where no rings are in the way, while some find the original side open easier to handle as they insert the paper into the 11x17 sheet protectors before they insert it into the binder. On the other hand the side loading version also provide extra security as it is harder to remove the 11x17 pages and for sure will not slide out if the binder is dropped on the floor by mistake.
In some cases, people will also purchase the side open edition and use them as a portrait frame to hang documents on walls with the use of the center hole along the hole line.
